Anders Olav Garlid, Ph.D., earned his B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Philosophy and M.Sc. in Biology and Physiology from Portland State University. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, & Integrative Physiology at UCLA in 2019. His research journey began with cardiovascular and mitochondrial physiology, evolving to focus on computational scientific research and biomedical applications.

As a Postdoctoral Scholar at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine in the Medical & Imaging Informatics group, Dr. Garlid's current work centers on biomedical AI/ML development, with emphasis on bias mitigation and ethical AI. He is dedicated to mentorship and interdisciplinary collaboration in biomedical AI, working to enhance patient care through AI systems while maintaining ethical standards and improving model interpretability in medical contexts.
