Alex Raman is a software developer and machine learning researcher in the MII group. After completing his Master’s degree in Bioinformatics under the advisement of Dr. Corey Arnold in 2019, he began working full-time at MI. Alex’s research interests include using machine learning with multiparametric MRI to non-invasively predict prostate biopsy results. He is also heavily involved in clinically-focused statistical analyses of the large dataset of prostate biopsy patients at UCLA. Currently, Alex is the lead backend developer for a mobile application that will be used in a study of heart failure patients. He is experienced in database design and creating REST APIs using Python, Flask, and SQL. Alex will be joining medical school in the Fall of 2020.
